How It Works

Two Ways to
Get Involved

Our membership structure supports two different pathways to keep things accessible and clear.

Required for All Volunteers
Volunteer Membership
A service pathway requiring a one-time donation. This supports the tools, training, and community programs that make your service possible. A waiver option ensures volunteerism remains accessible to all.
Remote volunteers complete the donation or waiver before onboarding. In-person volunteers complete it during onboarding inside the portal.
Your service is valued regardless of donation. Service Learning and Court-ordered donations are not waived.

Optional for Participants
Program Membership
A learning and community pathway for in-person program participants. Memberships support individuals, families, groups, and organizations in ASCENDtials' workshops, youth activities, cultural learning, and stewardship events.
Available for Single, Family, Group, Court-Ordered, and Company participants — each with their own pricing and benefits.
These are not required for volunteering.

We believe community service should remain accessible to everyone — regardless of financial circumstances. No explanation is ever required to request a waiver.

Accessibility & Refunds

If you experience financial hardship or have personal circumstances that make the membership donation difficult, you may request a donation waiver after onboarding. This ensures that no one is turned away from serving their community.

Refunds are processed within 10 business days. Your one-time, tax-deductible registration donation helps us sustain ourselves and ensures that volunteer and participant member recruitment services are free to our community and partners.

As a member of the ASCENDtials community, you agree to uphold the values and standards that make our programs possible.

  • Respect community guidelines and program expectations
  • Communicate proactively with your coordinator or facilitator
  • Complete required onboarding steps for your membership type
  • Honor your commitment to the hours and events you sign up for
  • Engage respectfully with all community members and staff
  • Keep your contact information and profile up to date in the portal
